Caribbean Weddings

Caribbean Weddings

Caribbean Blue offers a wide choice of both Civil and Catholic Weddings amongst the Caribbean Islands. On each island we offer Civil Weddings which take place in a variety of romantic locations. Caribbean beach weddings are by far the most popular wedding type but we also offer intimate wedding days in fragrant flower filled gardens, dramatic cliff tops and in atmospheric old Plantation Houses.

Alternatively if you would rather a traditional Catholic Ceremony for you and your family we offer these in Antigua, Barbados and St Lucia.

How Can We Help?

Civil Wedding

Before you do anything, have an idea of what sort of wedding/honeymoon you would like and have an idea of your budget. We have travelled extensively throughout the islands and we know which islands and even which beaches offer that WOW experience so we are in the best possible position to make suggestions on how to match what you want. Some hotels offer free weddings depending on how many nights you stay or how many people are in the total party, but on average a civil wedding will cost approximately €850.00 per couple and it can be organised with as little as 1 months notice. You will be advised at the time of enquiry what paper work you need to get in advance, package inclusions etc. The more notice we are given the better the chance of getting your desired property and the desired timed. The only major restriction is that you MUST be on the island for a minimum 3 working days before your planned date. (Some islands insist on just one day, but based on our experiences we recommend you stick with the 3 day rule).

Tip: We recommend that weddings take place in the late afternoon so couples can have a nice leisurely morning with a walk and a massage etc before preparing for the ceremony in the afternoon. A comment regularly heard from couples (particularly if it is just the couple on their own) is that after a morning wedding, they felt at a loose end.

Catholic Weddings

To successfully organise a Catholic wedding in a relaxing and stress free manner we believe there are two crucial components.

  1. Work with someone who has been to the hotels & churches, knows the ground and has good people in place to put you at ease and ensure that nothing unforeseen occurs.
  2. Allow yourselves plenty of time to get things organised.

Things move slowly in the Caribbean and while we all love the relaxed life style when we get there you do need to allow extra time to ensure everything is done on schedule. We currently offer Catholic Weddings in Antigua, Barbados and St Lucia. The standard wedding package will cost between €1499.00 and €1599.00 per couple and will include the following;

STANDARD WEDDING PACKAGE INCLUSIONS

  • Priest • Church Fees
  • Bridal Bouquet & Boutonniere • All legal fees
  • Transfers to and from town Hall • Two sets of transfers to and from the church.
  • Wedding Certificate • Bottle of Champagne/Sparkling Wine
  • Small wedding cake • Decorated wedding arch for photographs
  • Access to our wedding planner on the ground in the lead up to the special day.
  • Dedicated wedding co-ordinator here in Ireland to ensure the smooth planning of your special day.

OUTLINE SCHEDULE FOR CATHOLIC WEDDING

4 – 11 months: Book flights, hotels, church. The earliest these can be booked is 11 months ahead of the planned date. The closer to the wedding day they are booked the more difficult it becomes to get what you want. This is especially the case if you have a group travelling.

3 months: Fill out pre-nuptial enquiry with your local priest.

8 weeks out: Pay balance of wedding.

Day of Arrival: Met at the airport and brought to your hotel.

Next Morning: Meet wedding co-ordinator. Who will explain specifics of what will happen over the following couple of days.

Same Day: Book hair and make-up appointments with hotel co-ordinator.

Meet priest, pick up any documentation. (This will depend on the island). Also if there are any specifics you would like included within the mass this can be discussed here.

If this is a working day you will also visit the Town Hall to fill out the relevant civil documentation.

Wedding Day: No Problem.
